Job SummaryReporting and under general supervision of the Landscape Manager, and with additional lead work direction provided from other members of the Facilities Management team, the Irrigation Specialist is responsible for maintaining, scheduling, installing and repairing irrigation systems. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, modifying existing systems, installing central controls, and the planning and cost estimating and installation of new systems.
Key QualificationsThis position requires two years in the care and maintenance of landscape areas or general grounds, and one year experience in the maintenance, repair, or modification of irrigation systems and irrigation equipment. Experience in installation and maintenance of large commercial or public areas is preferred. Beginning proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office required. Knowledge of Google Suite, computerized work control system and web based irrigation systems is preferred. The incumbent must successfully complete a pre-placement exam and must possess and/or obtain and thereafter maintain a California Driver's License valid for the operation of any vehicle or equipment required to maintain and operate.
Salary and BenefitsStarting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $3,907 to $3,972 a month. This is a full time, non-exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period.
This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave.
