Job Summary The Center for Internet Augmented Research and Assessment (CIARA) at Florida International University's Modesto Maidique Campus is recruiting undergraduate or graduate computer science and/or engineering students to participate in National Science Foundation (NSF) sponsored projects. Students will get exposure to novel networking and network automation development concepts and techniques, state-of-art technology, and experience supporting projects that benefit research institutions.
CIARA has opportunities for students interested in getting experience in the fields of software development, DevOps, and scalability, as well as in the computer networking/IT fields.
Desired Qualifications Current undergraduate students in a computer science, engineering, or networking related curriculumFIU students majoring in CS/IT or students with a minor in CS/ITKnowledge of Linux OS and shell scriptingGood oral and written communication skillsTeam playerRequires prior completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within the first 30 daysWho May Apply Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.Students must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.Work Schedule Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (20 hours a week)
