DPP is seeking an ITAM Specialist for an opportunity in Columbia, SC.

 

Work arrangement:

Hybrid: Onsite partially, 3 days per week and as needed

W2 position; 12 months

Travel is required within the immediate Columbia area, Camden, Florence, Augusta and Greenville 

Summary:

The ITAM Specialist is responsible for onsite scanning of workstations and network printer inventory 3 days per week, reconciling that data against the inventory system of record and making the needed adjustments.

Perform data analysis and troubleshoot inventory discrepancies and produce the needed reports around the work.

Twice per year, participate in a full inventory of data centers and closets.

The inventory audit requires light lifting, standing for long periods of time, and the ability to get under a desk or into a closet as needed.

During days not in office, the ITAM Specialist has assigned tasks to review inventory accuracy and be able to identify problems, correct them, communicate trends with data and issues.

The ITAM Specialist does NOT need to troubleshoot technical issues with the workstations, printers or servers.

Minimum required work experience:

2 years of asset management, procurement, workstation support, or other job-related work experience. 

Job/class description:

Supports the asset management life cycle of information technology hardware and/or software assets throughout the organization.  Ensures appropriate reconciliation of assets across multiple company networks to maintain an accurate inventory in compliance with all regulatory entities.

Analyze and reconcile asset inventories and entitlements against discovery data, confirming assets are appropriately reported on network connection scans. Log, track and reallocate assets in the ITAM system through all stages of the asset lifecycle.

Create service tickets to correct any asset discrepancies found through the reconciliation process and monitor the ticket status to ensure completion and close out.

Develop, update and maintain valid inventory processes and procedures.

Create and coordinate software and/or hardware inventory reporting in support of compliance, inventory management activities, utilization, and budgeting functions. 

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Knowledge of Asset Management policies, procedures and concepts.

Understanding of hardware/software licensing/maintenance models.

Strong analytical, assessment and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication, organizational, planning and time management skills, with ability to prioritize and multi-task assignments.

Need to be able to speak to all levels of staff, including senior management in a professional manner

Need to be adaptable to constant change in the environment

Need excellent written and oral communication skills 

Work environment:

The team is a close-knit group of 11 (including the manager) that works well in a cohesive manner. They have been together in this capacity for just over a year and a half, most of the team has been working together for at least 2 years. They often have team building activities and weekly staff meetings.

Over the last 10.5 years, the team has been led by the current manager and has recently reorganized to combine different aspects of inventory compliance into one team.

The team is in the middle of a transition to ServiceNow and many of the team have been involved in that transition.

Standard hours - 8am to 5pm, but flexible between 7am to 6pm, minimum 8 hours per day Monday - Friday.

May require a weekend every now and then depending on audits and other priorities.

Some overtime may be needed, but no more than 5 hours per week on occasion.

Travel is required within the immediate Columbia area, Camden, Florence, Augusta and Greenville.

Fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer.

Required education/equivalencies:

Bachelor's degree in a job-related degree;

OR, Associates degree in a other job-related degree plus 2 years of work-related experience;

OR, 4 years job-related work experience (total 6 years without a degree)
