The Koch Internship Program?(KIP)?is a paid, 10-week experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellowships that offers meaningful work experience at non-profits all over the country tackling some of our nation's most pressing challenges. Throughout your internship with a partner organization, Stand Together Fellowships hosts virtual professional development sessions every Thursday from 1-5 pm ET, wherein you will be mentored by seasoned professionals as you craft a capstone project on the topic that matters most to you. Interns will receive either a $5,500 or $3,300 stipend from Stand Together Fellowships depending on whether they are participating full-time (40 hours/week) or part-time (28 hours/week). Successful candidates will interview with both our non-profit partner organizations and Stand Together Fellowships staff, so we strongly encourage you to apply in advance! The Illinois Policy Institute seeks a development intern to join our development team, playing a key role in supporting the institute's growth, fundraising, and outreach initiatives. The ideal candidate will be analytical, detail-oriented, adept at prioritization and execution, and comfortable using data-driven applications. Frequent interaction with donors and potential donors through phone, email and in-person meetings requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
During your internship with the external relations team, you'll work in our Chicago office and become familiar with all aspects of fundraising.
\n You'll have the opportunity to:Handle inquiry calls, emails and mail for the development team, responding or routing them efficiently.Engage with individuals to schedule meetings.Coordinate and prepare for key meetings with development officers, including document preparation, meeting reminders, and logistical arrangements for both physical and virtual meetings.Support direct mail campaign management including assisting with large-scale mailings.Assist in the collection, organization and accurate entry of donor information.Use screening platforms to assess donor and foundation capacity.Utilize CRM platforms to analyze donor behavior and history for meeting preparation.Support development events and fundraising activities involving the president and executive team.Compile donor data for specific projects and attend development and all-staff meetings.Support donor events, both in-person and virtual.
