Land Development and Construction Project Engineer About Us Tributary is an exciting and fast-moving residential lifestyle development located on the western slope of the Tetons in the heart of Teton Valley in Driggs, Idaho. With 103 homes already completed, this 1500-acre development is about to launch an updated master plan that anticipates upwards of 425 homes, additional land development needs, and multiple club facilities. The Project Engineer position is an addition to staff to a growing team and will play an integral role in supporting the construction manager and developer in seeing these amazing plans come to reality over the many years ahead. Summary/Objective The Construction Project Engineer at Tributary will support the Construction Manager in all aspects of the construction lifecycle for both horizontal land development and vertical construction efforts. This position will participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, implementation, and completion. Essential Functions Reviewing land development regulations and plans, preparing and submitting applications to governing agencies, and monitoring and assisting in the approval process. Pre-construction support, including project estimates, coordination activities, and scheduling. Preparing and managing administrative functions, including change orders, submittals, shop drawings, requests for information, meeting minutes, and pay applications. Interprets drawings and specifications. Controls any number of projects at various stages of work. Review records of accounts and input entries into proper accounts. Determine the functional and spatial requirements of projects and prepare information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time. Review layouts of projects and integrate engineering elements into a unified design. Review scale drawings and assist in executing contract documents. Administers construction contracts. Conducts on-site observation of work during construction to monitor the project schedule and compliance with plans and specifications. Responsible for getting inspections and sign-offs. Review project designs and plans using computer-assisted design software and equipment as needed. Manages any number of consultant and vendor relationships as needed. Writes RFP and solicits proposals. Creates and tracks construction schedules as needed. Monitor schedule progress, identify delays and forecasts, and track long lead time materials and deliverables. Utilize Procore project management software and maintain the project as the administrator on Procore as needed. Marginal Functions Research suppliers and materials as needed. Make shop visits to ensure products are built to specification as needed. Work Environment The position operates both indoors in an office environment and outdoors in construction areas. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The possibility for tripping, slipping, falling and injury could occur. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures. It will be expected that the hours and days are worked as necessary to ensure projects remain on schedule. Must have the ability to work weekends, holidays, days, and nights with flexible hours. The schedule is subject to change, and applicants must be flexible with schedule adjustments. Travel Some light driving travel is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in architecture or construction science/construction management or a minimum of five years of related experience in residential and/or institutional projects. Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, land planning, or construction management. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Working knowledge of construction documents (plans and specifications). Must have a valid driver's license. Must speak English fluently and possess the ability to speak professionally to members, guests, and all departments. Work Authorization Must have valid work authorization to work in the United States for I-9 form purposes.
