DESCRIPTION Nilles Associates is seeking to add an experienced Land Development Engineer to our growing team in Ankeny, Iowa. As a Land Development Engineer, you will be working on projects from initial concept through construction to make our client's visions a reality. Nilles Associates has a long, successful history of land development, working across multiple markets for both the private and public sectors. Our team at Nilles Associates has decades of experience helping our clients build community assets throughout Iowa. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Implement fundamental engineering principles in the design and development of general civil engineering projects. Prepare drawings, documents, details, schedules, and specifications using programs such as AutoCAD and Civil3D. Manage projects, including client relationship management, schedule maintenance, and budget oversight. Work collaboratively with internal and external team members. Enhance the reputation of Nilles Associates in all interactions with clients, contractors, sub-consultants, partners, and colleagues The types of projects that you will work on with include, but not be limited to, the following: Single and multi-family development Commercial site plans Street and road projects Drainage improvements Traffic analysis Utility design Trail and streetscape improvements As a professional engineer, you will be expected to guide and train younger staff, while still having the support of other experienced personnel to collaborate with. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university Licensed as a professional engineer in the State of Iowa or able to gain licensure within 6 months of hiring 5+ years of related professional experience Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and organizational skills AutoCAD Civil3D experience preferred Understand local, state, and federal regulations and design standards.
