ATCC, a pioneer in biomaterials manufacturing, is seeking a Lead Biologist with Molecular and microbiology background for a n onsite role based in Manassas, VA .??  We're looking for a n MSAT (Manufacturing Science and Technology) Lead Biologist to manufacture biological materials and standards . You'll wo rk independently to support the production of biological cultures and derivative products through assay development and tech transfers, as well as collect and record data . You will provide training and guidance to the team and fill in for the supervisor as necessary .    
Manufacturing Operations: Manufacturing or quality control (QC) testing of biological products by following standard operating procedures (SOPs) , work instructions , and other controlled documents. M aintain laboratory safety, operations, equipment, and supplies.   Assay Development and Process Optimization: Lead the development and validation of new assays for monitoring product quality. Optimize the manufacturing processes of biological products, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and best growth conditions.   Documentation and SOPs : Maintain accurate and up-to date documentation, including batch records, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions. Create SOPs to reflect process improvements and changes.   Technology Transfer: Manage the technology transfer of new processes, equipment, and methods from R&D or external partners to manufacturing facilities.   Validation Activities: Plan and execute process validation activities, including process qualification and validation protocols. Generate validation reports and maintain documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.   Bachelor's degree in a scientific field with 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent. Demonstrates advanced knowledge in molecular biology and p roficient in advanced molecular techniques, including digital PCR (dPCR) and quantitative PCR (qPCR). Experienced in designing primers and assays. Familiarity with Human/Mouse STR profiling preferred. Skilled in extracting nucleic acids from diverse biological materials (viruses, bacteria, fungi). Qualification (IQ,OQ,PQ) execution and document creation, automated systems like liquid handling and bioreactors is preferred. Capable of planning, leading, and preparing reports for qualification studies, such as assay validation. Attention to detail . Ability to multitask .
