Primary and Essential Duties and Responsibilities Works with multidisciplinary design teams in a cooperative and supportive manner Creates multi-view dimensional drawings of parts and assemblies Implements geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) on drawings to ensure proper fitment and functionality of parts and assemblies Serve as an authority on GD&T and drawing quality for the department Prepares bills of material (BOMs) and specifications Creates various documentation and processes engineering changes Optimizes design for cost, manufacturability, maintainability while achieving functional design requirements Makes various calculations, such as strength of materials, weights, basic forces, and stresses, frequently using charts and tables Works with engineers to create designs and resolve issues Provides assistance to lesser experienced designers by communicating work priorities, providing technical assistance and verifying accuracy of work Maintains CAD equipment by following manufacturer's instruction and procedures; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs, as required Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization Adheres to all quality and safety standards Secondary Duties and ResponsibilitiesMay participate in cross-functional teams and work groups Supervisory ResponsibilitiesMay indirectly supervise the work of more junior designers, but does not have direct reports Years Experience Level of Education

Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience required; Bachelors degree preferred
