Lead Electrician/Apprentice Program Trainer Location: Marietta, GA Project: Data Center Construction Start Date: ASAP Opportunity: Full-time potential with a national contractor Job Overview: We are seeking a Lead Electrician/Apprentice Program Trainer to join our team for a data center project in Marietta, GA. This role combines hands-on work with teaching responsibilities, offering an exciting opportunity to lead electrical work while training and mentoring apprentices on-site. The ideal candidate will have strong journeyman-level experience, formal OSHA training, and a passion for teaching.
Key Responsibilities: Electrical Installation & Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in a data center environment. Perform conduit bending, wire pulling, and conductor terminations. Follow project specifications, electrical codes, and safety regulations. On-site Training & Program Management: Teach and mentor apprentices, delivering structured classes in addition to practical, hands-on training. Develop and lead training programs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and OSHA safety protocols. Foster a collaborative learning environment, helping apprentices build foundational skills for career growth. Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams. Work with engineers and project managers to ensure electrical systems are installed accurately. Safety & Compliance: Conduct daily safety meetings, ensuring all site personnel adhere to OSHA regulations. Identify and mitigate electrical hazards on-site. Train apprentices on safety practices and ensure compliance with company policies. Testing & Troubleshooting: Test electrical systems to ensure functionality and safety. Troubleshoot and resolve issues to maintain system integrity. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with other trades and team members for smooth project progression. Communicate project updates to supervisors and project managers. Qualifications: Journeyman-level electrician with 4-5+ years of experience in commercial or industrial settings. Formal OSHA training and strong knowledge of electrical codes and regulations. Experience mentoring or teaching apprentices in a classroom or on-site setting. Proficiency in blueprint reading and electrical tools, including multimeters, testers, and conduit benders. High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications and licenses are a plus. Physical Requirements: Ability to work in varying conditions, including confined spaces and heights. Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy materials and equipment. Ability to stand and work for extended periods. Compensation & Benefits: Competitive pay based on experience.
