Department Information The Department of English at Middle Georgia State University (MGA) is seeking candidates for a full-time lecturer of English, with an emphasis in first-year composition. This position, beginning in Spring 2025, supports core education and will likely involve teaching on both Dublin and Cochran campuses. Job Summary eCampus (Middle Georgia State University) seeks a dynamic, innovative full-time online faculty with a successful track record of teaching college level English Composition and Survey of Literature courses. Responsibilities The faculty member will be assigned four courses in the Fall and four courses in the Spring. The online courses are taught using D2L Brightspace (GoVIEW), and the Lecturer is responsible in providing quality online instruction/facilitation.Faculty are expected to be available for their online office hours or online chats in addition to being engaged in course instruction and discussions based on the eCampus teaching expectations (as stated in the MOU). This position involves teaching a 5/5 course load (15 credit hours). Teaching responsibilities may include day and/or evening classes, online and/or video-conference classes. Required Qualifications A relevant master's degree is required (an earned doctorate degree is preferred) with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the field of English A minimum of three years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level, with at least one year of successful online teaching A commitment to supporting student success in an online learning environment Ability to convey difficult concepts online in a manner and to actively facilitate student understanding and success.
