Job Description Olsson is looking for a motivated mid-level Bridge Engineer to join our bridge and roadway team in Colorado Springs. Our bridge group works on a wide range of projects including bridge and retaining walls, dams, storm and traffic structures, inspections, rehabilitations, load ratings, and assisting with construction engineering services. We facilitate designs on transportation projects that include grade separations, interchanges, and stream crossings for public and private clients throughout Colorado. You will be able to collaborate with roadway, traffic, geotechnical, and stormwater engineers on projects that make a positive impact in our community while simultaneously offering you the ability to grow and pick up a wide array of skills.
Your responsibilities will include:
Serving as a lead designer on small to medium sized bridge projects.Perform structural analysis, design, and facilitate production of plan deliverables on all aspects of transportation projects. Prepare engineering design criteria, conduct site investigations, and complete engineering studies. Calculate quantities, estimate costs, and produce technical specifications.Manage task schedules and budget.Mentor younger design staff.Occasional travel to job sites for site investigations, inspections, and project meetings. Qualifications You are passionate about: Working collaboratively with others.Having ownership in the work you do.Using your talents to positively affect communities.You bring to the team: Strong communication skills.Ability to contribute and work well on a team.Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.Minimum of 4 years of experience.Must be a registered professional engineer.Proficiency with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design.Experience with bridge analysis and design programs (LARSA, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, Lpile, SPColumn, MDX).Experience designing plate girder and prestressed concrete bridges using AASHTO LRFD.Ability to make independent decisions on engineering problems and select appropriate structural solutions that are cost effective and constructible.Working with multi-discipline team of engineers and technicians.Occasional site visits/inspection work.Mentoring technical staff.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
