Job Summary:The Line Cook at Beach Combers Tiki Hut is responsible for preparing high-quality and delicious island themed meals in a timely manner for hotel guests and patrons of our on-site restaurant. This is a part-time and hourly position within the hospitality/restaurant industry, located in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. As an individual contributor, the Line Cook will work alongside a team of culinary professionals to provide exceptional service and uphold the high standards of Ramada Plaza.Compensation & Benefits:This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $16 to $20 per hour, paid biweekly. In addition, all employees are eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, paid time off and 401(k) retirement savings options.Responsibilities:Prepare and cook a variety of food items in accordance with recipes, quality and portion control standards set by the hotel and restaurantAdhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper temperature control and cleanliness of work areaCollaborate with kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate production of mealsMaintain knowledge of current menu items and be able to make suggestions and upsell to guestsFollow instructions and complete tasks given by the Executive Chef or Sous ChefCommunicate any supply or equipment shortages to management and assist in ordering as neededAssist with the set-up, breakdown, and cleaning of workstations, as well as overall kitchen cleanlinessHandle and store food items properly, including rotation and labelingAssist with inventory management and control of food costsAdhere to all safety and company policies and proceduresRequirements:At least 1 year of experience as a Line Cook in a high-volume restaurant or hotel settingKnowledge of basic cooking techniques and knife skillsAbility to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentStrong attention to detail and ability to multitaskFlexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysAbility to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 poundsMust be able to obtain and maintain any required food handling and/or alcohol service certificationsEEOC statement:Ramada Plaza Nags Head Oceanfront is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to creating a diverse workforce.
