The Opportunity Our Diagnostics business currently has an opportunity for the role of Logistics Analyst for our North Chicago, IL location.
The primary function of this position will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
Provide the distribution/ transportation information, analyses, and systems knowledge necessary to determine the most efficient and effective domestic distribution and transportation patterns.

What Youll Work On Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
Evaluate domestic distribution and transportation operations, data, and facilities in order to support the identification of the most effective distribution and transportation patterns for products.
Evaluates and implements results from distribution analyses.
Identify projects, perform data research, review and analyze findings, make recommendations, present findings, implement approved recommendation with assistance from manager.
Identify cost reduction projects; perform data research, review and analyze findings, make recommendations, present findings, write final report, implement recommendation.
Recommend improvements to the distribution system based on technological advances, changes in economic circumstances and sound business strategy.
Provide data and analysis to support long range planning to ensure that the distribution of product to our customers is both timely and economical.
Use computer access techniques to determine customer location, product demand and customer use of distribution/transportation services.
Develop computer and analytical systems to reduce time and cost of obtaining information for distribution and transportation decision making.
Analyze a distribution situation in terms of elemental and total costs for each operation; identify alternatives & costs, define the costs and savings of the best solution.
Derive basic cost data using computers and mathematical models.
; Influences personnel in other organizations to maintain smooth and efficient distribution operations; Assists management with negotiation of transfer rates and transportation rates with outside vendors.
Maintains professional contact with management of all disciplines.
Contacts external vendors and suppliers to exchange and obtain information; serves as the focal point for analysis and communications.
; Plans Activity Structure and Relationships: Makes, or provides input to, plans to accomplish assigned activities to specification (cost, quality, time); sets time lines to accomplish goals.
Accomplishes Goals Makes plans to accomplish assigned activities and projects, establishes priorities so as to handle competing demands, optimizes use of available resources, estimates time and resources necessary to complete tasks or projects.
; Interprets Results/Recommends Options: Uses personal computers and mainframe applications to break down and interpret large amounts of data; draws conclusions and recommends options to achieve objectives; identifies problems or issues and recommends actions to address them.
Interprets Data and Information: Uses a personal computer to collect, analyze, and transmit financial and other technical data and information, forecasts future trends, and assess the impact of proposed decisions and actions on other areas of the organization; Implements Activities: executes and revises plans as needed to accomplish assigned individual tasks to meet expectations (cost, performance, quality, time).

Operates with a small to moderate level of supervision.
Utilize management to review project priorities, training, and for review of all results/ recommendations of projects prior to publication to Abbott personnel.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOULL BRING Minimum Qualifications Bachelors Degree: BA, BBA, or BS preferred with 2 - 4 years of experience in logistics or supply chain.
Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics.
Preferred Experience: Strong understanding of Microsoft Office tools and SAP Experience preferred.
Experience with Qlikview a plus.
Exposure to materials and inventory computer systems, understanding of Abbott planning and distribution systems, and some project leadership roles preferred.

The base pay for this position is $57,300.00 $114,700.00.
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
