What you'll do
As the Logistics Supervisor for DuraMag® (A Shyft Group Brand) based in Waterville, ME, you will enjoy providing communication and logistics coordination between internal departments and key external transportation partners.
You will serve as the primary contact point for all domestic and international freight movements, as well as compliance matters regarding imports and exports. In addition, you will be accountable for coordinating with the 3PL provider to receive, resolve, and report on customer and supplier inquiries concerning freight disputes, shipment returns, and replacements.
You will also:
Organize team meetings to discuss logistics performance in relation to KPIsPartner with Material Distribution to coordinate parts delivery activitiesSupport inventory reduction initiativesReduce supplier past due part shipments, including internal part shortages.Coordinate inbound shipment processes Ensure the highest levels of performance in the areas of cost reduction, on-time delivery, availability, lead-times, and customer satisfactionTrack shipments and establish standard reporting to ensure on-time pick-up and deliveryProactively follow up on freight problems and communicate issues to all parties.Timely review and process freight invoices for accuracyMonitor shipment transactions for accuracy Examine expenditures and other financial information with a focus on continuous improvement Develop plans, policies, and budgets for increasing profits and improving services.Suggest policies and standards to ensure the safety of production parts and hazardous materialsVerify and resolve complaints related to carriers and shipmentsSupport parts packaging related requests.Coordinate the internal cycle count and physical inventory activitiesIdentify ways to reduce raw material while focusing on economic order quantities.Minimize supplier past due shipments and help monitor internal parts shortage issuesPrepare all required reports and correspondence related to logistics activityCollaborate with finance to ensure company transportation is registered, insured, and inspectedSupport drivers with any logistics while they are out on the road

What you need to be successful
