Overview: The Oklahoma Wound Care Center is the largest outpatient wound center in the Oklahoma City area. We see a wide variety of patients and their wounds. Most commonly seen is the diabetic foot ulcer, but we also treat surgical, traumatic and burn wounds. The staff play a vital role in assessing and treating simple to complex wounds. Nursing staff collaborate closely with physicians to achieve healing. The Oklahoma Wound Care Center is a busy and very fast paced clinic with 3 wound care specialized physicians, 10 exam rooms and 4 hyperbaric oxygen chambers.
Responsibilities: Performs duties of a licensed practical nurse as prescribed by the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act.Contributes to the development of a plan of care and follows through with such plan for selected patients.Administers medication with a high degree of safety and accuracy.Documents nursing care and activities.Assists with patient care and monitors patients during procedures.Assists the departmental assistant with clinical mattersMaintains the exam/treatment rooms and work environment.Assists with the training of other staff. Qualifications: Education Completion of a vocational program for Licensed Practical Nurse.Experience Prefer previous hospital experience. Previous work history reflecting stable employment is necessary. If no work experience, will consider school attendance record and performance.(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)
Licensure/Certification. Current Oklahoma State LPN License. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
