The Manager, Publications, will report to the Senior Manager, Scientific Communications, and will support the development and execution of a strategic publications plan, including abstracts, manuscripts, congress presentations, and other communications.
This individual will work with internal and external stakeholders, as well as agency partners, to ensure all projects are completed in an efficient and timely manner, are medically and scientifically accurate, and are of high editorial quality. They will also act as the system administrator for the publications and medical communications platforms, overseeing approval processes.
\n Responsibilities:Support execution of the publication plans for neurology and ophthalmology clinical programsWork with authors, internal/external stakeholders, and medical communications agencies in facilitating the development of high-quality abstracts, posters, presentations, and manuscriptsAct as system administrator for the electronic publication management platformSupport management of external medical communications agency partnersFollow legal, regulatory, and company guidelines, standards, and codes of practiceSupport other scientific communications deliverables as needed, including, but not limited to, lexicons, scientific communication platforms, and global slide libraries Travel to scientific meetings as needed (~10% domestic and international) Education and Skills Requirements:Advanced Scientific Degree (PhD, PharmD, etc.)At least 2 years of medical communications/publications experience in a biotech/pharmaceutical company/Med Comms agency or related experienceExperience in neurology or ophthalmology preferredAbility to analyze, interpret, and communicate complex scientific data to different audiencesStrong attention to detail and proven ability to complete assignments in a timely manner with minimal oversightExcellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication (verbal and written) skills Strong working knowledge of ICMJE and good publication practice industry guidelinesExperience working with fast paced, collaborative, cross-functional teamsKnowledge of publications and medical communications systems, iEnvision and Veeva, preferredManagement of consultants and/or vendors is strongly preferred
