JOB SUMMARY
The Materials Manager will establish competitive bidding and negotiating processes with suppliers and vendors to deliver required material on time to execute the Business Unit's operations. The incumbent will develop sourcing strategies to deliver cost savings and internal efficiency. In addition, they will collaborate with the Business Unit and Vendors to design facility equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible to oversee supplier and vendor selection process ensuring Master Service Agreement compliance. Provides oversight of Request for Price processes, including proposal meetings, bid openings, bid tabulation, and vendor contract awards. Responsible for oversight of vendor execution of awarded contract including timing, quality, and cost. Responsible to provide up to date project progress to Materials Manager. Responsible to provide accurate project cost estimates and actual final cost to Materials Manager. Provide logistics requirements and schedule logistics for all equipment and material needed for each facility to ensure on time and safe delivery Responsible to provide accurate and timely project information to internal accounting. Continually challenge processes for materials procurement by conducting regular reviews of current designs/specifications/procurement/logistics to provide the most cost efficient solution. Ensure all documents for engineered equipment are reviewed and approved with the Business Unit engineers and field foreman. Responsible for consistent tracking of cost for all equipment/material procured for budgetary and cost analysis. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Detail oriented with ability to multi-task with attention to accuracy. Team player that possesses the ability to adapt to a changing and fast paced work environment. Desire for curiosity and innovation. Comprehensive understanding of facility processing, electrical equipment, and midstream line pipe/controls/equipment. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMAND
Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. Incumbents must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting and standing. In the event that incumbent visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
