DUTIES: Employee in this position will oversee all aspects of laboratory services and coordinates the functions of the laboratory to provide needed support for other services in the Health Department. Employee maintains compliance with all State and Federal laboratory testing guidelines. Employee will develop, implement, evaluate and revise laboratory policies and procedures in accordance with local and state policies.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, chemistry, or a biological science from an appropriately accredited institution; or Associate's Degree in medical technology from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of medical laboratory experience; or completion of a certified Laboratory Assistant course in medical technology or a comparable course and two years of medical laboratory experience or high school or General Educational Development diploma and four years of applicable medical laboratory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Applicant must take and successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, Motor Vehicle Records driver license check, as well as submit to random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug and alcohol testing. A criminal background check must be completed by the County of Robeson for potential applicants. Applicants not residing in Robeson County will be required to provide a certified criminal background check from the county in which they reside.
