This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.

Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Non-Citizens are encouraged to apply and may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree in Allopathic Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine from an approved school. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completed residency training in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Board Certified in Anesthesiology. Physical Requirements: Applicants must meet physical standards for the position. A physical examination prior to placement is required. This is a designated drug testing position.

Duties of the Anesthesiologist include: Provide comprehensive Anesthesia services and follow-up care. Provide peri-operative care including pre-operative assessment, intra-operative anesthetic administration, and monitoring of post-anesthesia care. Provide expert consultation and guidance to CRNA, Nursing, and other medical staff. Involved with clinical care, bedside, and didactic teaching of residents. Document services through appropriate notes. Provide Morbidity and Mortality information and documentation as needed. Foster a high level of patient and staff satisfaction. Work Schedule: Full Time.
