Job Description Pay Rate: $25.57 per hour.

Position Purpose:
Perform all field functions relating to direct customer interface at their premises (residential, commercial, and industrial) starting at the curb stop/curb box through the service line and the meter, including all reading devices, pits, boxes, etc., including: meter readings (all types and purposes), meter investigations, incidental or emergency, settings, changing, field testing for flow and/or pressure, service shut offs, inside leak investigations (customer owned service line), frozen meter repairs.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Performs all functions relating to meters including setting, changing, disconnecting, repairing, field testing for large meters and reading (final reads, special reads, and high bill investigations).Removes, changes, installs and/or repairs MIU's (Meter Interface Units)/ radio.Make necessary field repairs such as repairing pipes damaged while changing the meter or installing meter couplings.Locates and operates curb stops and valves, water services, meters, and recording equipment.Conducts examinations at the customer's premises to ascertain unusual or unknown water usage.Locates leaks on customer premises.Reports unusual conditions observed on the customer's premises which could have an effect on company-customer relations including potential cross connections, illegal connections/uses, etc.Reports unresolved customer inquiries and/or complaints to the supervisor.Prepares and submits the necessary paperwork for work performed on a daily basis.Completes calls and relays information as necessary, and calls customers to arrange appointments for field visits.Operates usual office machines.Works closely with customer/contractor and government officials to coordinate company policies and operations.Make meter investigations on customer's premises in connection with pressure complaints, poor supply complaints, water quality, leaks, etc.Adhere to all company health and safety requirements.Performs similar or less skilled work as assigned.Assists employees of a higher classification as assigned. Qualifications Education/Experience/Background: High School Diploma/GED is required. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must possess oral and written communication skills and basic math ability. Required Certification/Licenses/Training: Must have valid State driver's license. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.Must have the ability to climb, bend, crawl, and walk extensively. Additional Information
