Job Summary
Leads and participates in delivering food products, kitchen equipment, and supplies to designated locations. Establishes and supervises procedures for replacement, repair, and disposal of obsolete food service equipment. Facilitates and participates in transportation and delivery services as needed for food services initiatives.
What you will do Plans and coordinates work activities, trains, monitors, and evaluates performance of crew. Ensures that work is completed properly and on schedule.Supervises and performs routine and preventative maintenance on commercial kitchen equipment. Troubleshoots in search of potential problem areas, i.e., maintenance inspections.Supervises moving/removing equipment and food-related items as needed.Provides logistical support in transporting and delivering equipment and/or food items to and from various locations. Confers with department administrators to determine work priorities and activity states.Maintains perpetual inventory of all capitalized and large equipment by recording acquisitions, dispositions, and transferals.Checks purchase orders for compliance and specifications, assists with requisitioning equipment and materials.Advises local school personnel as to proper equipment placement for optimum time/motion, production efficiency and work with vendors.Maintains a working knowledge of School Food Service industry equipment knowledge, which would require meeting with representatives and attending industry meetings.Oversees the specifications, maintenance, and replacement of department's fleet.Performs other duties as assigned by the Department directors.Oversees all contract maintenance and preventative maintenance services.Assists with kitchen construction projects by reviewing plans, attending meetings as needed, and providing recommendations.Assists with cafe maintenance corrections and compliance from government inspections.Performs other duties as assigned by the Exec Director of Nutrition Services.Education Qualifications High School Diploma or GED RequiredExperience Qualifications Three (3) years' experience in delivery, maintenance, and repair, inventory control, preferably involving commercial foods, equipment, and repair RequiredLicenses and Certifications Valid TN Driver's License RequiredCertification in equipment repair, refrigeration, electrical PreferredStarting At: $68,976.66
Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
