Position Summary
As a Network Administrator Manager, you will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's network infrastructure. You will work with a team of network engineers globally to ensure the smooth operation, security, and efficiency of our network systems. This role requires a strong technical background in networking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with other teams to meet the organization's objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
Network Design and Implementation:
Design and implement new network solutions and/or improve the efficiency of current networks.Install, configure, and support network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP.Procure network equipment and manage subcontractors involved with network installation.Network Performance Monitoring:Monitor network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made.Confer with network users about solving existing system problems.Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of networks and computer systems.Maintenance and Troubleshooting:Coordinate computer network access and use.Perform network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.Security:Ensure network security and connectivity.Monitor network access for security breaches.Implement and maintain security policies and procedures.Administration and Documentation:
Administer servers, laptop and desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, software deployment, security updates, and patches.Maintain network and system security.Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.Team Leadership and Management:Manage and train team members.Perform ad-hoc tasks for other departments as required including Infrastructure, server and cloud maintenance.Evaluate the performance of the network team and provide feedback and coaching.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CISSP) are highly desirable.Proven experience (8 years) as a network administrator or in a similar role, with demonstrated expertise in networking technologies and protocols.Strong communication and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.In-depth knowledge of network security principles and best practices, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access control.Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, as well as network performance optimization techniques.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.Ability to work setup and configure server hardware, network equipment, and backup software.Scripting, automation skillset is a plus.Note: This job description is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the role.
