The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) Division of Administrative Services is recruiting for a

Microcomputer/Network Specialist Flex 1/2 position!

This position is in the Supervisory Bargaining Unit and is flexibly staffed based on experience and/or training plan:
Microcomputer/Network Specialist Range 18:
$2,804.80 Biweekly salary,
Microcomputer/Network Specialist Range 20:
$3,210.40 Biweekly salary.

What you will be doing:
Join the DMVA, Division of Administrative Services (DAS), as a Microcomputer/Network Specialist. This position reports to the DMVA IT Manager and is responsible for infrastructure administration with a focus on endpoint management in DMVA's independent IT section. It aims to cultivate DMVA-specific skills in LAN and WAN administration, acting as a supervisor and escalation point for three DMVA IT technicians and serving numerous users. The role focuses on enhancing proficiency in planning, designing, securing, maintaining, and managing essential department resources.

Who we are looking for:
In addition to the minimum qualifications, the ideal candidate will possess the following competencies:

Technical Documentation : Knowledge of procedures for developing technical and operational support documentation.
Systems Testing and Evaluation:

Knowledge of principles, methods, and tools for analyzing and developing systems testing and evaluation procedures and technical characteristics of IT systems, including identifying critical operational issues.

Minimum Qualifications

Microcomputer/Network Specialist Range 18:
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in:
Customer Service:

Works with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations.
Information Assurance:

Knowledge of methods and procedures to protect information systems and data.
Systems Integration:

Knowledge of the principles, methods, and procedures for installing, integrating, and optimizing information systems components.
Technical Problem Solving:

Troubleshoots, diagnoses, analyzes, and identifies system malfunctions.

Microcomputer/Network Specialist Range 20:

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in:
Network Management:

Knowledge of the operation, management, and maintenance of network and telecommunication systems.
Strategic Thinking:

Formulates objectives and priorities; implements plans consistent with the long-term interests of the organization.
Systems Life Cycle:

Knowledge of systems life cycle management concepts.
Technical Expertise:

Effectively applies technical knowledge to solve a range of problems.
