Responsibilities: The Northeast Regional Office Director reports to the Chief Public Engagement Officer in overseeing the Northeast regional office (Alexandria, Virginia).Facilitate, coordinate and lead high-level engagements with stakeholders related to Intellectual Property and the innovation ecosystem at the local, state, and Federal levels.Support activities and efforts in the region that promote and protect intellectual property rights, and incentivize innovation from stakeholders such as individual inventors, small/medium/large corporations, start-ups, entrepreneurs, and venture capital.Collaborate with other executives within the USPTO to support activities designed to drive inclusive U.S. innovation.Provide leadership and oversight to the Northeast Regional Office staff and be responsible for the overall administrative management and performance of subordinate staff.Requirements: Conditions of Employment:
Experience must have been at a sufficiently high level of difficulty to clearly show that the candidate possesses the required Professional Technical Qualifications (PTQs) and Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs).The candidate must possess the following Professional Technical Qualifications:A background or skill set that demonstrates the ability to succeed at stakeholder and community outreach and development.Ability to effectively lead programs and/or people.Knowledge of the patent and trademark processes.Ability to represent programs and initiatives positively before external and internal stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, organize, and implement programs.Education: There is no higher-level education requirement for this position.
