Our client is a major utility company with a strong footprint in the SE Region of the United States with a focus in Power Generation, Nuclear, and Renewable Energy. They are currently going through some MAJOR Digital I&C Upgrades at two of their Nuclear Power Stations in Virginia. Due to the decade of work coming with these complex projects, they are looking to add resources in multiple operational teams and areas. They are looking too add multiple Nuclear Instructors with focuses in Nuclear Operations and Digital I&C Training. Position Details: 12 Month initial Contract w/ Extension (10 years of work) $60 - 75/hr + 1.5x OT + Medical Benefits + 401k Mineral, VA & Surry, VA(NEED to be local or relocate, no remote work) Per Diem for NON-LOCAL candidates Overview: Develop instructional materials and conduct training for the INPO Accredited Initial License Training program at North Anna Power Station. A candidate for this position should have in-depth knowledge of INPO accredited instructional design theory as well as teaching operators knowledge, skills, and abilities required to become licensed operators. This individual is responsible for maintaining training programs in accordance with nuclear industry, regulatory, institutions, and legal requirements. Licenses, Certifications, Qualifications or Standards Preferred (ANSI Requirements): ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014, Section 4.5.4 Other: Reactor Operator (RO) or Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license or applicable discipline INPO accredited initial training program or Senior Instructor Training Certification (Dominion) or Certified Instructor meets ANS 3.1 12/79, (Section 4.4.7.2) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experiences (Minimum Requirements) The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following: 12 + years of related experience OR; Certified OPS Instructor (including 5+ years of experience) OR; RO or SRO (including 5+ years of experience) OR; Sr Instructor OPS Training Cert from Dominion (including 5+ years of experience) 5 or more years of experience in Nuclear Operations In depth knowledge of INPO Accredited Instructional theory, design, and SAT process. Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication Good personal computer skills Operate various instrumentation and controls Problem solving. Abilities: Analyze and develop training materials Train and lead others Interface with regulatory personnel and industry peers Informal leadership skills Ability to effectively communicate with regulators. Soft Skills: Strong communication skills both verbal and written Ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams Nice to Have Skills: Preferred experience utilizing Vision or equivalent training material development software Experience in initial license training. Experience in training for Westinghouse 3 loop PWR. Experience developing license exams. Preferred Years of Experience: 12 + years of related experience OR; 5 or more years of experience in Nuclear Operations Industy Experience: Ideal candidate is someone from the nuclear industry with a Training background.
