The Role The Office Manager & Human Resources (HR) Administrator at Lawmatics will focus on supporting our existing employees, overseeing daily HR functions and managing office operations to ensure a productive and engaging work environment. This role requires on-site presence from Monday to Wednesday at our La Jolla, San Diego office, with the flexibility to work remotely on Thursday and Friday, role permitting.
What You'll Do Human Resources Functions: Manage and oversee daily human resources functions to support the well-being and needs of existing employees. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, the offer process, and pre-hire processes. Support employee onboarding to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Manage all employee lifecycle events, including performance management, performance improvement, promotions, and terminations as necessary. Manage the annual review processes for leaders and employees, providing training and guidelines where necessary. Train managers, partners, and employees on new regulations and company processes. Maintain HR records and documentation in compliance with company policies and regulations. Manage the firm's HR system, Gusto, including personnel files, employee PTO, and other leave requests. Develop and implement cost-effective strategies to promote employee engagement and morale within the allocated budget. Office Management: Ensure the office environment is clean, organized, and conducive to optimal productivity. Set up and maintain office facilities, including coordinating supplies, snacks, and activities to enhance the employee experience. Oversee day-to-day office operations for maximum efficiency. Plan and organize employee appreciation and team-building activities, culture events, and initiatives to foster a sense of community and unity among employees. Provide administrative assistance to the CEO as needed. What You'll Bring 5+ years of experience performing human resources functions (benefits administration, employee support, and more) required. 3+ years working in an office environment preferably in SaaS/technology. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to create a positive and productive work environment. Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize effectively. Experience supporting the recruiting and hiring process a plus. SHRM membership a plus.
