Short Description The Oncology Accreditation Coordinator supports the organization by coordinating multidisciplinary cancer case conferences to achieve American College of Surgeons oncology program(s) accreditation. This individual works collaboratively with the Manager Oncology Data Services, Oncology Accreditation Supervisor and multiple departments throughout the cancer center towards maintaining cancer conference accreditation and Continuing Medical Education (CME) compliance. Additionally, this role supports Cancer Registry/ Oncology Data departmental responsibilities such as data entry, cancer case follow up, case finding, and other projects as needed. Experience Required 0-2 Years
Must have prior experience working in a cancer center including involvement with cancer conference, cancer registry, and or accreditation activities.
Education Requirements High School / GED Required Associates Degree Preferred - Cancer Registry Management, Biology, Human Resources, or other related field May substitute preferred education degree with additional years of equivalent experience or completed years of college on a one to one basis. License/Certification Requirements Certified Tumor Registrar - Preferred
Special Requirements Communication – Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and coworkers
Knowledge of the current Commission on Cancer Program Standards and other cancer registry standard setting agencies.
Evidence of a high degree of leadership, initiative, self-direction, and critical thinking in previous positions is required
Must demonstrate excellent time management and communication skills.
Proficiency in the following computer applications preferred: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work with all members Cancer Center team
Knowledge of performance improvement methodologies, statistical process, and change management preferred
