Optical Network Planning Engineer

Volks Resources has an immediate requirement for a talented and experienced Remote Optical Network Planning Engineer to join our growing team.
You will play a vital role in designing and planning high-performance Optical Networks using IQGEO software.
IQGEO experience is REQUIRED. This is a long-term Contract position and you MUST be in the US and authorized to work for any employer.

Responsibilities Utilize IQGEO to Design and Analyze Fiber Optic Network infrastructure, including aerial , buried , and underground conduit placements. Develop detailed construction plans , including route selection , pole placement , and splicing details . Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, construction, and sales teams, to ensure project feasibility and success. Analyze geospatial data to identify potential obstacles and determine optimal network paths. Prepare and maintain accurate network documentation, including maps and reports. Stay up-to-date on the latest industry standards and technologies related to fiber optic network design . May participate in Site Surveys and Data Collection activities. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering , GIS , or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 2+ years of experience in Designing and Planning O ptical Networks . Proven experience using IQGEO software for fiber optic network design. Strong understanding of fiber optic technology, including cable types, transmission protocols, and network architecture is a MUST . Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in GIS principles and mapping software (e.g., ArcGIS ). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality. A valid driver's license may be required.
