This Optometrist position will provide professional optometric services at the Stein Eye Calabasas and Glaucoma Division clinics. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform optometric exams and imagingRecord all examination findings and recommendationsProvide patient education on surgery, lens options, astigmatism management, etc.Code and bill for examinationsWrite prescriptions for glasses and review medication requestsParticipate in the identification and recruitment of patients who are eligible for participation in clinical trialsSalary Range: $85,900-128,900 Annually
This position will require travel to multiple UCLA Health locations including Calabasas and Westwood. QualificationsRequired: Possession and maintenance of an active license to practice optometry from the California Board of OptometryExceptional oral and written communication skills including knowledge of medical and ophthalmic terminology to establish effective working relations with all levels of university staff, faculty, trainees, and patientsAbility to work in a cooperative and collegial fashion with other members of the Division to provide exemplary patient careAbility to work quickly and efficiently under a variable but often very busy workloadAbility to function in a research environment with patients who are enrolled in clinical study protocolsAbility to learn new routines quickly, to follow routines consistently, and identify better ways of accomplishing routine tasksProficiency in Apple and Windows operating systems, Microsoft Word and Excel, email, calendaring programs, and web browsersDemonstrated or acquired competency in office and medical center based data and electronic records systems (Epic/Kaleidoscope, etc.)
