The Waste Coordinator supports all waste related activities including hazardous waste, flammable waste, universal waste, and recycling for Serigraphs over 20 waste streams. Working closely with the EHS leader, they are responsible for coordinating waste pickups, staging waste, properly recording and tracking manifests, and gathering data for annual environmental reporting. Responsibilities will be spread across Serigraph's three Wisconsin locations and will work closely with key members of other plant leadership to accomplish objectives.
\n Environmental Material Handler ResponsibilitiesEnsure that waste areas, including the flammable waste, hazardous waste, and recycling areas, are clean, orderly, and within retention standards.Follow appropriate labeling and storage protocols for all waste types.Perform weekly waste inspections to ensure compliance and safety.Coordinate waste pickup including: Staging and segregating waste drums for shipment. Verifying profile numbers and labeling on each drum. Checking hazardous waste transport driver's documentation and verifying drum numbers with the waste manifest. Loading drums into the waste transport and signing the waste manifest.Manage the recycling trailer, including movement of full trailers on premises and communicating with vendors to change out trailers when full.Change out solvent totes and drums when empty, and fill solvent containers for the screening department.Place empty gaylords to gather waste, weigh them for tare weight, and tag them appropriately.Change out full gaylords, gathering the full weight (less tare weight) and store according to guidelines.Operate compactor for recoverable materials such as cardboard and polycarbonate.Sort universal waste into appropriate categories, such as batteries and bulbs.Stage bins for the monthly confidential shredding pickup.Contribute to the auditing and reporting for Serigraph's ISO 14001:2015 and Green Tier certifications.Contribute to Serigraph's small quantity generator reporting (POC).Perform quarterly spill control audits as part of Serigraph's SPCC program.Gather and provide data for the annual Toxic Release Inventory to the EPA.Work with the City of West Bend for water testing and monitoring.Maintain compliance with Serigraph's no exposure storm water certifications.Act as a member of the monthly cleanliness audit team.Act as one of Serigraph's forklift trainers performing new certifications and recertifications. Environmental Material Handler QualificationsStrong knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and the Global Harmonized System (GHS).Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.Accurate entry into company ERP software and ability to navigate Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.Valid drivers license for travel between plants.High school diploma or equivalent experience.Knowledge of good departmental and company safety/housekeeping/PPE practices.Understand departmental procedures and policies.Prior experience in waste management and hazardous waste preferred.Prior training and responsibility in waste manifests and recording.Knowledge of waste storage requirements and acceptable retention time limits.Forklift certified and additional certifications for movement of hazardous materials.HAZWOPER certification strongly preferred.
