JOB DESCRIPTION – Partner Growing the Business Cultivate a network of clients who depend on Scimitar for their success and generate sufficient sales to keep yourself and several other consultants fully utilizedDevelop, test and roll out creative and novel strategies to grow our businessContinually push Scimitar forward into new client accounts and service offeringsLead and support business development efforts from proposals to closing new engagements Client Management Manage project teams, including contractors, and assume top-line accountability for client satisfaction. Ensure conflicts are resolved and escalated as appropriateServe as the key account lead to manage client concerns and needs, and to ensure best-fit staffing decisions are madeSuccessfully navigate extremely complex projects through an exceptional ability to communicate with senior-level clients and application of effective leadership principlesContinuously exceed client expectation upon project delivery Account Management Ensure overall account management requirements are complete and maintained throughout the project (e.g. SOW signatures, MSAs executed, POs created, payments received, data entered into account tracking systems, etc.)Track project progress and costs against plan and address any necessary proactive corrective actions directly with the client (e.g., project extension, scope adjustment, etc.)Effectively manage Scimitar cashflow by ensuring time and expenses are submitted on time for all projects and staff under managementDefine project scope and approach, working closely with other Scimitar team members to ensure client expectations are realistic at the outset and exceeded upon completion of the project Client Delivery Serve as a highly effective strategic leader, working with senior management and motivating yourself and others to deliver exceptional resultsLead accounts (vs. individual projects) by ensuring each project is meeting or exceeding its initial value propositionEncourage clients and other Scimitarians to continuously improve through coaching and thought leadership People Development Successfully develop and mentor other staff members within Scimitar to ensure Scimitar standards are met by providing informal and formal feedback in a timely and constructive mannerSupport internal efforts to identify appropriate staff members to deliver projectsCreate and maintain a rewarding environment where work-life balance is heavily considered, successes are rewarded, and performance issues are quickly escalated and resolvedAct as primary stewards of our unique work-place cultureMentor and develop other staff members along multiple dimensions including industry knowledge, service delivery excellence, business development, and building and leading teams Firm Strategy and Infrastructure Actively contribute to, drive, and lead Scimitar strategies and internal initiatives to grow and continuously improve all aspects of the firmParticipate in recruiting activities to identify and hire exceptional staff membersAct as an owner/operator of the business in all aspects by demonstrating a strong and ever-present drive to promote the success of Scimitar QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
A deep history of prior management consulting experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical arena is required, along with the demonstrated ability to successfully drive business development and leadership activities. MBAs are preferred along with Bachelor's (and often graduate) degrees in engineering and/or life sciences. We also place a very high value on candidates with some prior industry operating roles, e.g., strong records in the biopharmaceutical industry or extremely rich operating experience.

Required Experience 10+ years of business management or consulting experience in a reputable company
10+ years in a life sciences sector including Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals, Cell Therapy, Gene Therapy, Medical Devices or DiagnosticsExperience across all segments of the life sciences value chain: Research, Development (Clinical), Technical Operations (Mfg., Supply Chain, Logistics), or CommercialProven record of high value contribution to your past clients or employersExperience in all of the following disciplines: Program Management, Project Management, Organizational Change Management, Analytics and Data Visualization, Digital Transformation, Organizational Strategy and Capability Building Education Bachelor's Degree in a science or engineering disciplineAdvanced Degree or MBA Applicable Professional Skills Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem solving capabilityDemonstrated leadership ability within a team environmentAbility to work well with people at all levels in an organizationAbility to communicate complex ideas effectively with confidenceCreative, analytical approach to problem-solvingCollaborative nature to support working in complex, cross-functional environmentsDemonstrated competency in common software tools such as Microsoft Suite, Smartsheet, and video meeting platformsExceptional skills in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word and high comfort level using web-based tools Physical Requirements Travel up to 80%.
