Payroll Staff Accountant

As Princess Polly's Payroll and Retail Accountant, you will participate in ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payroll, financial reporting and accounting activities and implement controls, processes, and systems to enable the company to meet operational, reporting and audit requirements.
You will be a key player in helping the business scale while you further develop your career at a very progressive fashion retailer.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
-Assist in compiling, reviewing and approving employee time record and payroll data for input into the payroll system
-Review and reconcile payroll data and correct any discrepancies
-Prepare analysis reports on salary, payroll, benefits, and other deductions.
-Maintain sub-ledger including reconciliation to the general ledger.
-Develop, implement and maintain key policies and procedures for your area of responsibility.
-Help ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures for certain key balance sheets and income statement accounts (including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, as well as performing flux analysis). Key areas of responsibility include general payroll, retail cash, and retail operating expenses, and retail operating accruals.
-Identify risks, implement controls, and maintain proper process documentation and evidence in accordance with SOX
-Support the Controller and Assistant Controller in enhancing the Company's existing accounting procedures and internal controls and seek opportunities to improve accounting operational efficiency and effectiveness.
-Prepare audit schedules that are requested by the auditors to support our annual audit.
-Support for ad-hoc projects as required.
If you can accomplish the above, you've got what it takes. Realistically though, you will have:
-BS/BA Degree in Accounting or Finance
-3+ years accounting experience in a retail/manufacturing environment
-Experience with Payroll Processing required
-Experience with ADP required 
- Experience with Deputy a plus
-Experience with Netsuite ERP software a plus
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office:  specifically Microsoft Excel Ex: Pivot Tables & V-Look Ups preferred
-Prior e-commerce and brick and mortal experience is a plus
-Strong accounting knowledge and an understanding of US GAAP
Salary banding: 60-70k
