We welcome you to join our collaborative team! Position Summary We are seeking a talented and experienced Photo Studio Set Builder & Production Assistant to join our team part-time (16-24 hours/week) to support our dynamic photo studio operations.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in carpentry, set design, and general construction techniques, and possess the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Your work will help create engaging and visually stunning photography sets for both indoor and outdoor environments, with responsibilities ranging from set construction to landscaping and material handling.
This role requires hands-on expertise, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.

Essential Functions Indoor Studio Set Construction & Assistance Collaborate with the photo stylist to conceptualize and build photography setsAssemble, modify, and dismantle sets including temporary walls, flooring, and backdropsAssist in the preparation and organization of product samples and propsEnsure the studio remains clean and organized, including maintaining tools and materialsTransport materials and assist in loading/unloading products for off-site shootsPerform set construction tasks such as painting, wallpapering, faux-finishing, and minor repairs.Outdoor (Seasonal) Set Building & Landscaping Assist with the construction of temporary outdoor structures (fencing, pavers, siding, etc.
)Help with seasonal landscaping tasks such as laying pavers, trimming, planting, and maintaining outdoor setsPerform physical tasks such as digging, lifting, and setting up structures as directedGeneral Duties Ensure timely execution of set-building tasks to meet tight deadlinesSafely operate hand and power toolsMaintain accurate inventory of product samples, props, and materialsUphold safety procedures and best practices in all tasks, both indoor and outdoor Physical Demand Frequent lifting, bending, and carrying of materials up to 100 lbs.Handling of hand tools and repetitive motion with hands and fingersWalking, balancing, and standing for extended periodsComfortable working indoors and outdoors, performing physically demanding tasks Requirements Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in carpentry, construction, and set-building techniquesKnowledge of hand and power tool operationAbility to follow creative direction and technical specificationsStrong organizational skills and ability to multitask efficientlyExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesValid driver's license and ability to operate a forkliftMust provide digital examples of previous work (portfolio or website link) Preferred Experience Previous experience in theater set design, scenic building, carpentry, or constructionBackground in studio production, set assembly, or related fieldsAbility to creatively problem-solve and offer innovative solutions to set design challenges If you're excited about contributing to a creative, fast-paced environment while building visually captivating sets, apply now to join our team!
