The DC manages all detailing activities on the project and is the
liaison between the detailers, connection design engineers and LSC management.
Note: The DC is the primary Aid and consultant to the LSC Project manager for all matters related to
technical issues and shop drawings.

What You Will Be Doing
1) Take the lead role in developing the "Detailing set-up" in cooperation with the
Engineering manager. This will include a review of all contract and sales documents.
2) Review the Detailing set-up with the detailing group for clarity of the job requirements.
Document the items discussed.
3) Oversees the incorporation of the following items into the shop and erection dwg's.
Coordination with elevator supplier and mech contractor.
Coordination with precast support requirements.
Coordination with Architectural dwg's.
Coordination with stairs and rails.
Coordination with window wall and other wall materials and attachments.
Coordination with supplied materials such as grating, joist, deck, fire-trol columns, etc.
Coordination with supplied connection sketches and calculations.
4) Review ALL contract doc's for determination of all SCOPE material. This includes coordination
with our sales department and PM/erection department.
5) Process RFI's.
a) Write RFI's as appropriate for information the detailer may not be best suited to
research and write such as complex prep and paint, modifications to details shown
on the contract doc's, etc.
b) Review RFI's created by the detailer. Confirm legitimacy. Answer if possible.
c) Know the critical RFI's that have a significant impact on the project and communicate to PM.
6) Review revised contract documents (NOC) for global issues that will affect the project.
a) Does it affect material?
b) Does it affect detailing sched?
c) Does it affect material already fabricated?
d) Does it have a cost impact?
7) Review and approve detailer and connection engineer "extra's" for NOC's, etc.
8) Work with our PM's and CO department to evaluate CO's for our customers.
9) Review and approve detailer invoices. Maintain log of invoices and "extra's".
10) Review shop and erection dwg's prior to distribution to approval and shop/field.
a) Quality: LSC drafting standards, Detailing set-up, clarity of dwg's, etc.
b) Completeness: Confirm scope of work is detailed, monitor the items that can dwindle in
such as roof frames, etc. Confirm coordination with misc., deck and joist, etc.
has been done properly.
c) Schedule: Constantly communicate the importance of maintaining the schedule. Help the
detailer evaluate time limits for needed information in order to maintain the schedule.
11) EVALUATE returned approval comments for cost issues, errors and inconsistencies
with prior RFI responses, unanswered questions, etc.
12) Answer shop questions.
13) Maintain forms and Logs:
a) Meeting minutes:

c) Quality log
d) Field action log
e) Invoice log.
f) NOC log.
14) Evaluate field problems and furnish field work sketches as needed. May involve connection design.
