Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience on Higher Ed, Municipal, K-12, or similar Commercial projects. Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of North Carolina, or ability to obtain your PE in North Carolina within 6 months. Responsibilities Support the proposal process by providing project manager and client with input on design options, project schedules, and code review. Perform site visits to existing facilities for renovation/addition projects for information gathering on existing conditions. Work with project managers and designers and collaborate with other disciplines to prepare construction drawings and calculations within AutoCAD or Revit. Perform quality control review analyses to ensure final documents and specifications exceed client expectations. Conduct interdisciplinary coordination and manage final reviews/approvals between disciplines and agencies and respond to comments. Continue involvement through the construction process including submittal review, RFI response, field visits, and closeout documentation. Skills Perform full plumbing system design and sizing (water, waste, storm drainage, fuel systems, med gas, etc.) calculations and plumbing fixture selection. Design zone layouts and riser diagram for building sprinkler system. Produce plumbing & fire protection design drawing packages (plans, construction details, specifications, life safety).
