Our industry-leading platforms and solutions help connect target audiences to the content they need, when and where they need it so that it is as easy as possible for them to learn how to use Salesforce products and drive business growth.Role DescriptionSalesforce delivers world-class events, both in-person and virtually. As the Principal Member of Technical Staff focused on architecture priorities for the Event Technology portfolio, you will play a crucial role in defining and driving the technical vision and strategy. You will oversee the architectural integrity of our platforms and ensure they align with our future state objectives. This leadership role requires a deep understanding of software development and architecture principles and a passion for innovation and excellence in scalability, performance, and user experience.Key Responsibilities:Lead the architectural strategy and direction for the Event Technology portfolio, ensuring alignment with Marketing Technology's overall technology vision and business goals.Architect, design, implement, test, and deliver highly scalable applications and services.Operate optimally in the hybrid engineering model where engineers are encouraged to craft and complete the vital work to ensure quality in their code and other engineers.Strategically plan, design, and execute the implementation of highly scalable solutions that meet current and future business needs.Collaborate with Architects, Lead Engineers, and cross-functional teams in the application design process, contributing innovative ideas and technical expertise.Experience and SkillsRequirements:10+ years of professional software development experience in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production systems.Proven experience in a technical leadership role, including architecture, design, and implementation of complex software systems.Proven ability to mentor team members to support their understanding and growth of software engineering concepts and aid in their technical developmentExperience developing front-end and back-end software, preferably including JavaScript or TypeScript, with frameworks such as React and runtimes, including Node.jsProven understanding of web technologies, such as JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, XML, JavaScript, and JSONExpertise in GraphQL APIs and AWS services (such as AppSync, Lambda, DocumentDB, SNS, SQS, etc).Validated understanding of Database technologies such as SQL, PL/SQL, NoSQL, and relational database schema designBachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Technology, or equivalent experience.Strong verbal and written communication skillsDesired Skills:Knowledge of mobile and cross-platform/browser test automation.Experience with Snowflake, Google Analytics, and configuring CDNs such as Akamai.Proven ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineering teams, to deliver exceptional user experiences.Strong understanding of Agile methodologies: Scrum and Kanban.AccommodationsIf you require assistance due to a disability applying for open positions, please submit a request via this Accommodations Request Form.Posting StatementAt Salesforce we believe that the business of business is to improve the state of our world.
