What you'll be responsible for: Circle is looking for an experienced Principal, Know Your Customer (KYC) to join its Compliance Operations team and lead complex reviews and projects in Circle's KYC team. The Principal Analyst will conduct specialized diligence reviews for customer onboarding, including enhanced due diligence, and on-going periodic reviews.
What you'll work on: Reviewing complex customer assessments for risk of money laundering, financial crimes and terrorist financing.Managing monitoring customers under specialized diligence reviews, develop relationship with counterparty and assess controls.Oversighting of complex account relationships, including a holistic review of customer relationship, transactions and customer provided information.Partnering with key internal stakeholders including business teams and other control functions to monitor client relationships on an ongoing basis and ensure compliance with regulatory expectations.Reviewing risk based business actions to be taken to onboard customer and/or on-going monitoring.Reviewing written reports of findings, including comprehensive details, narratives and recommendations.Providing guidance to Business and acting as a point of escalation for complex issues with highly creative solutions.Closely following regulatory, compliance, and enforcement developments in the cryptocurrency.Acting as Subject Matter Expert of existing and emerging blockchains, tokens, and technologies impacting the industry.You will aspire to our four core values: Multistakeholder - dedication and commitment to our customers, shareholders, employees and families and local communities.Mindful - respectful, an active listener and attentive to detail.Driven by Excellence - relentlessly pursue excellence and do not tolerate mediocrity.High Integrity - open and honest communication, holding oneself to high moral and ethical standards.What you'll bring to Circle: B.A./B.S. degree; quantitative or technical degree a plus.10+ years of relevant experience in AML and KYC reviews for crypto or financial institutions.A passion for harnessing the power of digital currency and blockchain technology.First-class investigative capabilities and problem-solving skills.A get things done mindset, able to think strategically and take initiative.Experience collaborating cross functionally and driving results.An innovative and creative mind looking to suggest new solutions.Proven experience working collaboratively with the ability to interface with multiple stakeholders.Experience and comfort working in an ever changing industry.Strong leadership, relationship management skills and executive presence.Excellent communication skills and presence.Work effectively in a fully remote environment.Presenting to regulators, examiners and auditors.CAMS, CFCS or CFE certification is a plus.Additional Information: This position is eligible for day-one PERM sponsorship for qualified candidates.Circle is on a mission to create an inclusive financial future, with transparency at our core. Starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to: relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and other business and organizational needs. Base Pay Range: $160,000 - $207,500. Also Included: Equity & Benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)). Circle has a discretionary vacation policy.
