Full job description Job Description: As a Production Manager at Picardie, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our shop, ensuring the production schedule is met, maintaining quality control, and managing a team of skilled employees. Your role includes, but is not limited to:
Production Management: Set daily and long-term production goals and schedules. Review team progress and ensure quality control. Work with the Project Manager to complete jobs ahead of installation dates. Communicate production status effectively to project managers and superintendents. Work directly with the COO to align shop operations with company goals. Team Leadership and Training: Conduct employee training on shop tools, procedures, and safety protocols. Schedule employees for daily tasks and oversee shop production. Conduct regular safety meetings and enforce safety and PPE use. Operational Duties: Maintain inventory of tools and materials. Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and in working order. Receive, track, and schedule deliveries, documenting with packing slips. Supervise the organization and cleanliness of the workshop area. Open and close the shop daily. Perform skilled carpentry tasks, including layout, cut lists, finishing, and painting. Replicate profiles for trim and moldings, install architectural elements, and assemble/refurbish components. Coordination and Support: Occasionally perform site manager duties, including meeting with site superintendents and general contractors. Coordinate with site managers to ensure timely delivery and installation of products. Support site managers by preparing necessary documentation (JHA reports, change orders, daily objectives). Enter progress and assessments into the project management software. Hiring and Recruitment: Participate actively in the hiring process. Conduct interviews and evaluate potential new hires. Ensure new hires are well-integrated into the team and trained adequately. Qualifications: Proven experience in carpentry and production management. Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and supervise a team. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to maintain quality control and ensure the safety of all shop activities. Experience in hiring and recruitment processes. Proficient in using project management software. Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
