About the Job: Production Superintendent - Night Shift The Production Superintendent for the night shift at our Manchester, Iowa facility plays a pivotal role in ensuring smooth and efficient production operations. You will be directly responsible for overseeing the workflow, maintaining top-quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production performance. Compensation: $75,000 - $100,000
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain staff by selecting, orienting, and training employees; fostering a team-oriented environment. Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points. Complete production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries. Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques. Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests. Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Minimum Position Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Agricultural, or Industrial Engineering; Industrial Technology; Supply ChainManagement; or closely related field. 6 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Prior experience with continuous process improvement initiatives and methodologies. Experience directly supervising 10 or more employees, including overseeing multiple department operations. Ability to act as the night shift's direct extension of the Director of Operations, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in a related field. Professional certification in Project Management or Lean Manufacturing. Experience in a similar industry, particularly in high-demand production environments. Strong problem-solving skills and leadership qualities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate from the front. Skills: Strong leadership and decision-making skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Proficient in data analysis and performance/operation metrics. Familiarity with industry-standard equipment and technical expertise. Commitment to recruiting, mentoring, training, and retaining a focused team; impressive record of building and motivating teams.
