Job Summary: The Production Supervisor will oversee and manage production shift employees and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and quantity standards. Supervisory Responsibilities : Trains and manages production employees on the assigned shift. Provides job evaluations based on performance and goals set by Production Manager in a timely and constructive manner. Recommends promotions and salary increases based on observed job performance. Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department. Escalate discipline to Production Manager and Human Resources of employees in accordance with company policy. Conducts constructive performance evaluations that are timely and constructive. Ensure onboarding is complete, fully trained, etc. Coordinates with Production Manager and Human Resources to respond to employee concerns or complaints. Coordinates with Production Manager to establish goals and criteria to be used in performance evaluations for assigned staff. Interact with the payroll system for activities such as time off requests and timecard approvals Adhere to EMS and IATF 16949 Policies and Procedures. Safety Responsibilities: Ensures each assigned worker follows all safety standards. Ensures that assigned departments comply with company policies and safety standards. Operations Responsibilities: Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of department supervisors as assigned. Ensures supervisors manage their departments efficiently and in accordance with departmental goals. Oversees the daily workflow and assignments of the production shift. Guides, assigns, schedules, and supervises the work of department team; ensures work is completed on schedule. Ensures paperwork is completed and signed correctly. Oversees assigned production, ensuring safety standards are followed and quality work is being performed in a timely manner. Determines project requirements and procedures, and the required materials and workers, based on given project specifications such as blueprints. Keeps and maintains appropriate production and employee records. Performs daily walkthroughs of project/work site to confirm availability and use of proper materials and tools; recognizes and promptly addresses issues so that work can continue on schedule. Resolves problems and coordinates activities for the job through collaboration and communication with other management or technical staff and contractors. Conducts audits and quality assurance tests of work and safety matters. Identifies and recommends solutions for production problems, as required. Identifies, investigates, and resolves delays in shift operations, ensuring deadlines are met. Ensures department has appropriate staff to meet objectives. Works with Production Manager and other leaders to identify and address inefficiencies and opportunities for cost reduction. Assists Production Manager and Lead with preparing schedules. Department Maintenance and Resource Responsibilities: Oversees production operations on assigned shift. Coordinates maintenance schedules to ensure efficient operations. Maintains knowledge of processes and equipment. Troubleshoots issues that arise. Notifies maintenance department of equipment problems. Recommend preventive maintenance and schedule updates Qualifications for Consideration: Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs. Ability to analyze situations and identify ways to improve efficiency. Excellent interpersonal and management skills. Thorough understanding of materials, methods, and tools used in projects. Ability to read blueprints and other reports outlining specifications. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Thorough understanding of operations policies and practices. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior manufacturing experience desired Physical Requirements: Must be able to traverse the production facility. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time, with assist controls.
