RESPONSIBILITIES:Reporting to the Value Stream Leader, this role is responsible for managing a talented and diverse team. One of the most important goals of the Production Supervisor is to properly organize and direct the production staff to achieve a satisfactory workflow. They must also identify areas for improvement and organize training opportunities for their team. This position is a working Supervisor who will be working side-by-side with their crew.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:Supervising operations within the facility to achieve higher outputOrganizing training and educational manuals for the production teamAssisting in the recruitment and onboarding of new hiresDevelops, implements, and enforces operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality and revenue.Organizing, monitoring, and prioritizing tasks to meet production goalsEvaluating various stations of the production operation to ensure optimum efficiencyAccomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of manufacturing tools and equipmentComputer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.Excellent organization, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skillsExcellent problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethicAbility to create and adhere to production processesAbility to write reports legibly and accuratelyRelevant training and certification in industrial production, engineering, or any related fieldEDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing facility, working in production AND
HS diploma plus 3 years production supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment; ORAssociates degree plus 3 years production supervisor or team experience in a manufacturing environment; ORBachelor's degree plus 2-year production supervisor or team lead experience in a manufacturing environmentWORK CONDITIONS:Office and manufacturing facility environmentOccasional periods of standing or sitting for extended periods of timeRequired wearing of appropriate PPEExposure to hot/cold weather and loud noises in a production environmentFrequent computer and telephone useFrequent communication with people throughout the day*The specific statements shown in each section of this description are not intended to be all-inclusive.
