Department Summary
The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) supports UCLA's community of educators in engaging in equity-minded and research-based teaching practices in support of diverse learners, advancing instructional innovation and pedagogical research, and celebrating inclusive excellence in teaching. To realize this mission, the TLC collaborates with instructors, leadership, and various campus partners to champion visionary ideas and forward-thinking initiatives that transform and elevate the teaching enterprise.
Position Summary
Are you a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a passion for supporting teaching and learning initiatives? If so, we encourage you to join our team at Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) as the Program Analyst (Project Policy Analyst 2). Reporting to the Director of Administrative Operations, the Program Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the TLC's operational and strategic objectives. This position is integral to advancing the TLC's mission of enhancing graduate and post-doctoral scholar engagement, faculty and instructor development, and the assessment of instructor and student experiences. The Program Analyst will provide comprehensive administrative, analytical, and project management support to the TLC Directors, departmental leadership, and various groups and committees as assigned. Primary duties include conducting detailed data gathering, research, and analysis to inform strategic decision-making; preparing comprehensive reports, presentations, and publications to support TLC initiatives; assisting in the development and implementation of strategic plans aligned with the Center's goals; managing key projects and programs, ensuring objectives are met within deadlines and budget constraints; coordinating the operational aspects of program delivery, including logistics, financial management, and stakeholder engagement; and working with the appropriate communications units to update website content to reflect current information and guidelines. Other duties providing project management support for all relevant program committees; acting as the liaison between TLC leadership and committee members; assisting with special projects and events as assigned; and serving as back-up front desk receptionist for the TLC's main offices as needed, including assisting faculty with test scoring appointments and report generation and overseeing work assignments for the TLC student workers. Additional responsibilities include coordinating the financial aspects of the assigned units and projects, such as working with the departmental purchaser to process purchases, payments, and reimbursements; transferring funds; and working with the Director of Finance and Contracts and Grants Manager as needed to resolve any discrepancies. The position requires the use of considerable independent initiative, analysis, facilitation, planning, and judgment, as well as the ability to collaborate with others in an organization that supports the teaching and learning mission of the entire UCLA campus. It is the Program Analyst's responsibility to acquire and maintain current knowledge of the activities and functions of the units in their portfolio, as well as concepts and trends in the area of higher education. Salary & Compensation
*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications Knowledge of University policies and procedures in the areas of purchasing, travel, and event planning. (Preferred) Ability to organize, prepare for document, and lead meetings with faculty, staff and students at all levels. (Required) Demonstrated superior writing skills and familiarity with design and presentation software to independently compose correspondence, presentations, reports, publications, and evaluations. (Required) Excellent communication skills to obtain and convey information to individuals at various organizational levels: chairs, deans, vice-chancellors, faculty, and staff (Required) Demonstrated skill in analyzing and synthesizing information from various sources, producing hypothesis and conclusions, and compiling into a clear, concise report and/or presentation. (Required) Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff, faculty, and students at all levels. (Required) Demonstrated skill in operating a personal computer and associated office software. (Required) Demonstrated skill in project management theory and practice. (Required) Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are competing requirements and pressures of deadlines; skill in working independently and identifying more effective methods of work operation. (Required) Skill and knowledge of data analysis; skill in analyzing information, problems, situations, practices or procedures. (Required) Demonstrated skill in applying online etiquette essential to engaging effectively and professionally with supervisors, colleagues, and clients in remote meetings using videoconference technology (e.g., video camera on, mute when not speaking, enabling chat for discussion, etc.) (Required) Ability to work on campus with the potential for a hybrid schedule with a minimum of three (3) days working on campus. (Required)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience in administrative setting. (Preferred)
