Job DescriptionPerforms duties in support of Innovation Campus Master of Engineering (MEng) programs currently located at the Northern Virginia Center In Falls Church. The position will transition to supporting the MEng programs at the new Innovation Campus in Alexandria, Virginia starting in 2025. The position will report to the Director of Master of Engineering in Computer Science. The main responsibilities include (1) provide day-to-day support for graduate students enrollment at Innovation Campus MEng programs, including student records, enrollment, and registration; (2) serve as a liaison and first contact with interested parties to MEng programs, including prospective students, corporate partners, vendors and others; (3) assist in the design and preparation of events, including open houses, committee meetings, career fairs, and other activities; and (4) provide backup to other MEng administrative staff.Required Qualifications- Experience providing administrative support in a professional office environment;- proven computer skills and experience with a variety of computer software such as word processing;- Bachelor's degree or equivalent level of training and/or experience;- demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a wide range of clientele, including students, prospective students, faculty/staff members, administrators and other visitors.Preferred Qualifications- Degree in higher education or related field;- excellent communication and interpersonal skills;- ability to work independently;- good organizational skills;- experience supporting graduate students in higher education/continuing education settings;- previous experience maintaining student records;- interest and experience in working effectively with a diverse student population.Pay Band3Appointment TypeRegularReview Date3/21/24Additional InformationThe successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.About Virginia TechDedicated to its motto,Ut Prosim(That I May Serve), Virginia Tech pushes the boundaries of knowledge by taking a hands-on, transdisciplinary approach to preparing scholars to be leaders and problem-solvers.
