About The Center for Inclusive Innovation The Center for Inclusive Innovation supports school districts to co-create powerful learning opportunities with and for historically and systematically excluded learners. We do this by engaging educators, families, students, community members, researchers, and social entrepreneurs in community-centered R&D projects using our Inclusive Innovation model to co-create opportunities for individuals to successfully lead, participate in, and benefit from education innovations that address the needs of students and families. The Center works in collaboration with communities and districts in Digital Promise's League of Innovative Schools and beyond to employ an Inclusive Innovation R&D model to design, champion, and scale new models for education innovation.
About the Position The Center for Inclusive Innovation is hiring a Project Director, R&D Initiatives to manage Inclusive Innovation projects as a member of the R&D Projects Team. In collaboration with the Center and R&D Projects team, the Project Director will lead projects that engage schools, communities, researchers and entrepreneurs in the research, design and implementation of solutions to education challenges that impact the agency, wellbeing and economic mobility of students. The Project Director will oversee the design and execution of initiatives, ensuring alignment with project goals and community needs.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who is highly organized, skilled in managing multiple projects, and passionate about working with a diverse range of stakeholders. They have experience fostering community-centered initiatives with school districts, are adaptable to the dynamic nature working with schools and understand the fundamentals of education R&D. Additionally, they have knowledge and experience with inclusive design and development practices. Flexibility, strong communication, and collaboration skills are essential to navigating the fast-paced environment and ensuring the success of each initiative.
Responsibilities include: Lead and manage multiple R&D projects from design-to-implementation focused on supporting district and community teams in co-research and co-design managing project goals, deliverables, budget and timelines to successful completion.
Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with school district leaders to ensure alignment with project goals, foster open communication and collaboration, and drive the overall effectiveness and impact of R&D initiatives in the districts.
Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including educators, students, families, community members, researchers, and social entrepreneurs, to effectively implement Digital Promise's Inclusive Innovation model, fostering inclusive co-design processes that center on community needs and insights.
Oversee and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong organizational and multitasking skills to ensure that all deliverables are completed accurately, on time, and within budget, while adapting to changing priorities as necessary.
Collaborate with key organizations, partners, and funders to advance the Center's overall strategy by cultivating new partnerships with aligned professionals and organizations, enabling the development of new opportunities to enhance the impact and scalability of R&D projects and initiatives.
Facilitate and maintain strong partnerships with school districts, particularly within Digital Promise's League of Innovative Schools, to scale new education innovation models and ensure that co-designed solutions can be implemented broadly and effectively across various communities.
Monitor project progress closely to ensure that all initiatives are aligned with the center's strategic goals, equity-first practices, and that the outcomes reflect successful, measurable improvements for learners and communities.
Qualifications include: 5+ years of professional experience in K-12 education specifically serving in leadership roles within school districts (required) ,
Knowledge and experience in implementing co-design models and inclusive practices
Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred), with a strong foundation in education systems and emerging innovations that support equitable learning.
Demonstrated ability to build and sustain collaborative partnerships with diverse groups, including educators, students, communities, and industry leaders, fostering trust and shared vision in project execution.
Proven expertise in project leadership and management, capable of executing and overseeing multiple initiatives simultaneously while effectively managing diverse stakeholder groups to meet project goals and timelines.
Excellent communication skills; experience effectively communicating in writing via Word and PowerPoint formats with a variety of external stakeholders and organizational leaders
Experience in virtual-first collaboration, with in-depth knowledge of best practices for supporting remote teams, fostering digital knowledge-sharing, and ensuring productive virtual communication.
Strong passion for lifelong learning, combined with a team-oriented mindset, creativity, and a collaborative approach to solving complex problems, with a willingness to adapt to changing project needs.

Working Condition
Digital Promise Global is a hybrid organization. Employees are expected to travel at least 4 times a year for in person meetings and the annual staff retreat. Additional travel may be required based on role and responsibilities.

(c)Special Provisions:

Compensation We consider candidate experience and location when determining where a candidate may fall within that range. Digital Promise Global offers a competitive total rewards package including coverage of 85% of health insurance premiums for employee coverage and 75% of health insurance premiums for dependent and family coverage, 15 vacation days, 12 sick days, 3% 401k employer contribution, 3% employer 401k match, and a flexible work environment.
The full-time salary range for the Project Director, R&D Initiatives position based on geographical regions are listed below, with exact salary depending on relevant experience.
