The Towson University Counseling Center (TUCC) seeks to fill a Psychotherapist for Substance Use Services position. This position will provide substance use counseling services, consultation about substance use prevention and treatment, develop, implement, and evaluate alcohol and drug education and prevention programming/outreach for the campus community. Establish role as central liaison between campus departments in the delivery of alcohol and drug prevention programs. Conduct appropriate and relevant needs assessments, collect data, and evaluate services. Conduct alcohol and other drugs brief intervention sessions, assessments, and counseling services to the campus community. This individual will also serve on University committees where appropriate and participate in other aspects of the Counseling Center's mission as assigned.

Responsibilities and Duties
Provide counseling services for students seeking counseling support for substance use concerns on both a regular and emergency basis, and when necessary assessment, brief interventions, counseling, treatment, and consultation in individual and group formats. Is on-call as needed for after-hours consultation related to emergency student mental health needs. Adheres to agency standards regarding case management, documentation, and parameters of service. Awareness of local and regional treatment and support resources for students seeking higher levels of care, or recovery support. Provide outreach and prevention programming as assigned, including substance use and early intervention/prevention, psychoeducation, and general Counseling Center outreach. Some evening and weekend hours to accommodate these needs. Build liaison relationships and collaborate with other campus departments as needed to conduct prevention programs/outreach; such as, but not limited to :Campus Recreation, Housing and Residence Life, Greek Life, Athletics, Student Activities, and Health Center. Collaborate in the STEPS program's efforts to provide services in new and creative ways to best meet the needs of the campus community. Assist the STEPS program manager with various reporting, training, and other activities for Counseling Center staff and campus partners. Consult with Counseling Center staff and trainees on general clinical cases. Contribute to the training of doctoral interns by conducting seminars and other training activities as needed, regarding substance use, treatment, recovery, and early intervention/prevention. Participate in the range of activities necessary for participating in Counseling Center training programs. Participate in the Student Affairs and University mission in a variety of ways, such as collaborating with campus partners, attending university functions, and serving on task forces or committees as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills
Masters Degree in relevant area. Licensed or license-eligible in Maryland with LCADC, LGADC, LCPC, LGPC or LCSW-C. An expectation for this position is for the candidate to continue actively accruing the necessary clinical hours to be fully licensed as an independent mental health provider in Maryland and in possession or working towards substance use specialty credential. Within 12 months, the candidate will obtain specialized credential in substance use treatment.   One year of experience Knowledge and experience with harm reduction strategies in addition to experience in a college or University Counseling Center are preferred.  Salary and Benefits Targeted Hiring Range is $70,000 - 72,000 and full University benefits that include 22 days of annual leave, up to 15 holidays, personal and sick days; excellent health, life, and retirement plans; and tuition remission.
