About the role
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Expert to join our API Platform Team.
In this role, you will ensure the robustness, reliability, and scalability of our API Platform by developing and executing comprehensive test strategies.
The role also includes hands-on testing and to create automated tests with various testing frameworks.
You will collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality products that meet our stringent security and performance standards.

We're a squad with a mix of business and technical minds working within If's agile framework.
The team focus on building a scalable and secure API Platform consisting of API/Event Gateways, Developer Portal, API Admin Portal, and other supporting tools.
Our technology stack includes .NET, React, Next.js, and Node.js, supported by modern development and testing processes and tools.
The squad is s a part of a larger tribe with the mission to provide common API & IAM capabilities for scaling If's business in a secure and compliant manner.
We enable internal If teams and external parties to unlock business opportunities through technology, processes, training, and governance.

Key Responsibilities:
* Test Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement test strategies for our API Platform.
* Test Execution: Lead and execute functional, integration, and end-to-end testing, both manually and by using testing frameworks.
* Automation: Build and maintain automated test suites to ensure the reliability of our platforms during continuous integration and delivery cycles.
* Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product owners, and other QA professionals to identify and mitigate risks early in the development process.
* Quality Assurance Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior testers and developers and act as the quality champion within the API Platform Team.
* Defect Management: Identify, document, and track bugs, and work with the development team to resolve issues efficiently.
* Performance Testing: Ensure the API platforms meet performance requirements under various conditions and load scenarios.
* Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest QA methodologies, tools, and best practices, and apply them to improve our testing processes.
Required Qualifications:
* Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Test Engineering, preferably within a technology-driven environment.
* Technical Skills: Experience with frameworks such as .NET, React, Next.js and Node.js
* UI testing frameworks: Experience in working with tools such as Playwright, Selenium or Cypress.
* API Testing: Proficiency in testing RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and web services.
* Automation Expertise: Proven track record of developing and maintaining automated test suites.
* Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Insurance Industry Experience: Familiarity with insurance industry standards and regulations is a plus.
* Test Management Tools: Experience in using test management tools such as Azure DevOps Test Management.
* Performance Testing Tools: Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies.
* CI/CD Pipelines: Knowledge of continuous integration and delivery pipelines and tools with Azure DevOps.
* Technical Skills: Knowledge of SQL
