The Quality Aide would be responsible for working with all neuroscience patients five days a week. Examples of these patients include complex spine, skull-based neurosurgical, stroke, and epilepsy monitoring patients. This position will be responsible for important early mobility tasks such as getting patients out of bed to walk and/or to chairs for meals, as well as range of motion on non-mobile patients. They will also ensure patients are compliant with the use of their incentive spirometers, SCDs, and oral care and help perform these tasks; important measures in decreasing our aspiration pneumonia and PE/ DVT rates.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing assistance with patient care mobilization under the supervision of the nursing plan of care. This position demonstrates advanced clinical competence and knowledge necessary to assist with the mobilization appropriate to the age of the patients served to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical record which will contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Receives on the job training to learn work routines.
2. Follows basic instructions and procedures. Seeks guidance on solving non-routine problems.
3. Follows schedule to complete assigned tasks and duties. Completes task with direct supervision.
4. Interacts primarily with department peers and/or personnel.
5. This position works under supervision and has responsibility for assigned unit only. Incumbents work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment with a strong focus on customer service. Interacts with staff at all levels throughout the facility, as well as patients, families and physicians.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/ GED or equivalent working knowledge and/or receives on-the-job training for up to two months to learn work routines. Certification may be required in specific areas or preferred in all other areas.
Certification for BLS is required.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to follow established policies and treatment procedures Must possess excellent organizational skills, as well as effective human relations and communication skills.
Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy and keyboarding skills is required.
