The Quality Specialist will partner with various departments to ensure the assigned departments and associates meet all pre-determined metrics as well as other regulatory guidelines. Collaborates with the service lines business management teams to implement successful action plans that improve overall quality metrics to meet regulatory and business requirements while effectively resolving deficiency and providing excellent customer service.
Scope

Performs quality reviews for all associates in assigned departments by reviewing patient accounts and/or payment posting batches. Scores associate performance against predefined metrics. Creates documented processes to support the workflows of the department, as well as lead process improvement initiatives. Creates and provides quality monitoring reports to the Revenue Cycle Leadership teams. Utilizes reports to partner with Revenue Cycle leadership to lead quality calibration discussions and provide suggested solutions for identified trends. Collaborates with multi-level SCL associates (includes leadership, associates, ITDS, ELPD) to customize workflows/tip sheets, Epic and revenue cycle management tool behavior, and reporting. Maintains organization of all training material created for the department by leveraging SCL Health tools. Completes testing of newly revised or developed processes on SCL Health tools such as the revenue cycle management tool and Epic. Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Education
Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Preferred: Associates degree in related field preferred.
Experience
Required: Two (2) years of Revenue Cycle and/or Cash Management

Understands in depth the processes throughout the Cash Management departments for quality and compliance. Ability to interact with internal customers in a manner which shows partnership to reach the common goal of resolving delinquency, providing excellent customer service and following compliance. Effective communications skills: written and verbal. Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to stay organized while managing multiple ongoing projects and assignments. Ability to self-direct once provided with desired outcome and overall work plan. Data analysis to identify patterns and trends to improve the targeted activity and outcome. Ability to produce data in a spreadsheet, pivot table, slide show or other communication tool that can be easily understood. Knowledge of Federal and State regulations governing hospital revenue cycle operations and cash management. Physical Requirements:
