Job Summary: As a Quality Control Technician II , you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of Ascent Chemicals' products by performing advanced laboratory testing, troubleshooting, and process improvement activities. You will also be responsible for training new team members, maintaining laboratory supplies, and supporting production by managing batch adjustments and data entry. This position requires strong attention to detail, technical expertise, and a commitment to upholding safety and quality standards. Duties and Responsibilities: Perform all responsibilities of a Quality Control Technician I , including conducting routine and specialized tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods. Assist in the development and refinement of existing test methods to improve accuracy and efficiency. Train and mentor new laboratory technicians, ensuring consistency in testing procedures and laboratory protocols. Monitor and manage the laboratory's inventory of chemicals and consumables, tracking and ordering supplies as necessary. Troubleshoot equipment issues, perform routine calibrations, and handle regular maintenance of laboratory instruments, including HPLC, GC, and titration equipment. Support production teams by assisting in batch adjustments and troubleshooting when atypical results occur. Accurately input test data into both internal and customer databases, ensuring data integrity and traceability. Adhere to and promote all company safety policies and laboratory best practices. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Quality Manager or Laboratory Supervisor. Skills, Qualifications, and Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a quality control laboratory environment. Education Requirements : Associate's degree in chemistry or a related scientific field with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Chemistry or a related field. Hands-on experience with advanced analytical instruments, including HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography), GC (Gas Chromatography), and titration methodologies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to effectively manage data and communicate results. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently troubleshoot equipment and method-related issues. Effective multitasking and time management skills to balance competing priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting. Strong commitment to safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods while performing laboratory tests. Must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 25 lbs. Ability to adjust to the varying demands of a fast-paced production environment. Hours are 3rd shift from 7pm to 7am
