Quality Engineer Reports To: Quality Manager 6 month Contract-to-hire

The Quality Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of production quality, both internally and externally. Reporting to the Quality Manager, this position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of product quality on the shop floor and ensuring the delivery of conforming products to customers. The Quality Engineer actively engages in problem-solving activities and interfaces with customers as needed to address quality-related concerns.
Duties and Responsibilities: Manage the Quality Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) responsibilities for assigned Projects/Programs. Create and maintain APQP documentation, including Process Flow and Control Plan. Review dimensional layout results and lead the team towards achieving 100% conformance. Demonstrate the ability to interpret 2D drawings effectively. Coordinate Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and facilitate new product and/or engineering changes as required by various customers. Coordinate and track gage designs in collaboration with customers and gage houses. Monitor assigned customer portals to stay informed about specific requirements. Evaluate and respond to customer complaints/requests in a timely manner. Collaborate with various departments to develop and implement corrective actions. Track and report quality metrics from customers on a monthly basis. Verify warranty claims for customers as needed. Note: This list of duties is not exhaustive but aims to establish the primary functions within the company.
Preferred Education and Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (4-year program). 1-2 years of relevant work experience (internship, Co-op, etc.). Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, etc.). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt quickly to changes with short notice. 9257656
